02What data we process and why
When you contact us
If you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we process the data you give us (your name, contact details, details of your car and what you are asking for) in order to reply, prepare quotes and book services. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing that contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). WhatsApp messages also pass through the services of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, which processes them under its own privacy policy.
Usage statistics (Google Analytics)
Only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: pages viewed, length of visit, type of device and browser, where the visit came from and approximate location (country and city). Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your IP address. Advertising signals and ad personalisation are switched off. If you decline, the Google Analytics code is never loaded.
Running and securing the website
The website is hosted by Vercel, which logs technical data for each request (IP address, date and time, page requested and browser) in order to serve the website and protect it against abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not sell personal data or use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Cookies are small files stored on your device. This website only uses the ones listed below. Analytics cookies are only created after you click “Accept” in the consent bar; you can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, and the analytics cookies are then deleted.

04Recipients and international transfers
Data may be processed by the following providers, on our behalf or as independent controllers: Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC (Google Analytics), Vercel Inc. (hosting) and WhatsApp Ireland Limited (if you contact us via WhatsApp). Some of these providers may transfer data to the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023) or standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission.
05How long we keep data
- Contact requests and quotes: as long as needed to reply and, if they lead to a service, for the legal retention periods for invoicing and warranty.
- Google Analytics statistics: up to 14 months; the cookies expire after 13 months.
- Hosting technical logs: short periods, set by Vercel.
06Your rights
You can ask for access to, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before. To do so, write to info@rkmotors.pt; we will reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) – www.cnpd.pt (opens in a new tab).

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.

This policy is available in Portuguese, English, German and French. This English version is a translation provided for convenience; in the event of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
